About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing Harnest team. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you’ll play a key role in preparing tenders, cost plans, purchase orders and pricing submissions across a diverse pipeline of social and affordable housing projects.
Working closely with Sales, Design, Project Management and Construction teams, you’ll help ensure projects are commercially viable, accurately priced and delivered to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed tenders, cost plans, BOQs and pricing submissions across social and SDA housing projects.
Review architectural drawings, engineering documentation, specifications and scopes of work to identify risks, opportunities and cost impacts.
Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure competitive and commercially sound submissions.
Contribute to value management initiatives and risk assessments during the tender process.
Prepare purchase orders and procurement documentation for trades and suppliers.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage variations and ensure client requirements are met.
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and industry partners.
Support continuous improvement across estimating, procurement and pricing processes.
About You
Minimum 5 years’ experience in estimating within residential, townhouse or medium-density construction.
Strong understanding of construction methodology, buildability, costs and structural complexity.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings with a high level of accuracy.
Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
Proven ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Qualification in Building, Construction Management or similar (Cert IV or above), and/or relevant trade background.
Experience using Databuild, Framework or similar estimating software, alongside Microsoft Office Suite.
