The Opportunity
Reporting to the Sustainability and Social Procurement Lead, the Communications and Engagement Coordinator will coordinate project communications, stakeholder engagement and community connection activities across Harnest’s major projects, with a strong focus on Homes Victoria projects.
Develop and manage project Communications and Engagement Plans aligned to key milestones, risks and stakeholder needs, (including notifications, updates, presentations, signage, digital content and reports)
Coordinate stakeholder and community engagement activities, including consultations, meetings, site tours and project events.
Partner with project teams, clients, community organisations and stakeholders to build trust and support positive outcomes.
Build strong relationships with Homes Victoria, local councils, community stakeholders and project partners to support positive project and community outcomes.
Translate technical construction information into clear, engaging communications for diverse audiences.
Capture and share project stories, case studies and community outcomes that showcase local impact, community benefit and social value
Support initiatives with schools, community partners and industry networks to deliver employment, skills and social value outcomes.
About You
Relevant qualification in Communications, Engagement, PR, Community Development, Business or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in communications, stakeholder engagement or a similar project-based role.
Proven ability to develop high-quality communications, engagement materials and presentations.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex or technical information.
Experience managing stakeholder enquiries, issues and competing priorities.
Confident engaging with clients, project teams, contractors, community stakeholders and senior leaders.
High attention to detail, sound judgement and proactive approach to managing communication risks.
Experience in construction, government, social procurement, community engagement or housing delivery highly regarded.
